counselling & psychotherapy
with individuals

You may be in acute distress. You may be concerned about a long-term underlying issue. You may be unsure what the matter is. What brings you to seek therapy may be one or more of the following:

your relationship with your partner - parent/s - children - colleagues - friends

feeling depressed, disconnected, lost, helpless, abandoned, a sense that 'something's missing'

feeling overwhelmed by: anxiety - grief - rage - jealousy - guilt - shame

bereavement

extreme stress

suicidal thoughts

anorexia, bulimia, obesity / compulsive eating (see link)

compulsive gambling

dislike / disgust of your body

sexual concerns - intimacy, impotence, addictive behaviours

self-harming

phobias

separation from parents in childhood:
due to death, to divorce, to adoption,
to being in care,
to being away at boarding-school (see link)

separation from children in adulthood

My aim is to give respectful attention to your deepest feelings and needs, however confusing and conflicting.
It is this very process of sensitive enquiry that can ease distress -
creative work I am passionate about and fully committed to.

(NB: in special circumstances, telephone counselling may be appropriate.)

Fee: £50 per hour's session
Concession negotiable on request

counselling & psychotherpy
with couples

I aim to facilitate constructive communication to enable both resolution of a current crisis and exploration of any long-term issue that you bring for attention. Impartial and non-judgemental, I support both parties in realising how different parts of themselves operate in the relationship to get needs met.

Fee: £60 per hour's session
Concession negotiable on request

What now?

Please ring me to arrange an introductory appointment. This is an opportunity to tell me what brings you to counselling, to voice concerns and ask questions, and for me to outline the structure of how I work - to help you make an informed decision about working with me.
